Senior Staff Advisor - Kim founded Custom Accounting Services in December of 1995, and has worked full-time as a professional bookkeeper, tax preparer and business consultant since 1990. She is the Senior Accountant and CEO of Custom Accounting Services, as well as, a sister organization - Custom Business Services. Kim's experience in both the small sector and with not-for-profit organizations puts her in high demand. She is knowledgeable with all industries and completes extensive Continuing Education in the areas of Taxation, Benefits and Payroll Compliance, as well as Business Development. Kim is a strong proponent of business education and is passionate about educating the local small business community. She is the leading force in the development of many Small Business Education Programs held at Custom Business Services.
Kim earned her Associate’s degree in accounting from Cayuga Community College with Magna Cum Laude honors. Her past work experience includes five years in the banking industry, as well as working as the Business Manager/Bookkeeper for Merry-Go-Round Playhouse from 1994–2000. Relevant community service includes serving as Treasurer for the Booker T. Washington Community Center from 2001–2004 and providing financial advisory services to several non-profit organizations in the area. Kim is also a sitting Director and Finance/Budget Chair of the New York State Society of Enrolled Agents (NYSSEA) Board of Directors. She is the 2010 award recipient of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year - Class 6-14.
Kim enjoys baking, vacations and spending time with her family.
Kathryn L. Bailey
Payroll Manager & Staff Bookkeeper
Having been a valued member of our team since 2008, Kathi was promoted to Payroll Manager in 2010 and oversees all functions of our payroll department. Not only does Kathi process all payroll at our firm but she is also the person who will discuss all of your payroll processing and benefit needs. Kathi is also knowledgeable of all accounting and bookkeeping services and is proficiant with QuickBooks.
Kathi has an extensive customer service background and has worked for a large Central New York company for over 23 years as well as provided service to a local University. Kathi comes from a family of small business owners providing her with an understanding of the dedication and committment that it takes to successfully run one.
Kathi enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing and walking.
Karla J.K. Shreck
Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer
Joining Custom Accounting Services as of the New Year, Karla hails from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She is a seasoned tax preparer and accountant with extensive QuickBooks experience.
Karla earned degrees in Accounting and Business Management from the Penn State Affiliate, The Pennsylvania College of Technology, and has a Certificate in Advanced Income Tax Preparation. She has worked for many years as a tax preparer and staff accountant in the public accounting sector, as well as working as a cost accountant and controller in several private manufacturing companies.
Karla is an avid volleyball player, slow-pitch softball player, and a lousy golfer. She enjoys country music with her very musically talented family.
Veronica L. Hill
Staff Accountant
Joining our dynamic team in 2011, Veronica provides accounting and bookkeeping services to both our in-house and on-site bookkeeping, including service-based companies, retail and consignment shops, and property management. Veronica is here to answer your questions......whether it be with QuickBooks, NYS Sales Tax or general accounting questions, she will always get you the answer you need to run your business "worry free."
Veronica earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Cayuga Community College and brings a tremendous amount of experience to Custom Accounting. Her past work experience includes nine years in the banking industry holding various positions from being a teller to working in finance and commercial credit. She also has experience in not-for-profit organizations, manufacturing and distribution companies. Her expertise will benefit all of our clients. In true Custom Accounting fashion, Veronica makes accounting approachable.
Veronica enjoys ice skating, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Cynthia L. Ross
Office Manager
Cyndy will often be your primary contact at Custom Business Services/Custom Accounting Services. She greets our clients in person and on the telephone. Cyndy is the editor of our newsletter and manages both of our websites while working closely with management in areas of marketing, operations and compliance.
Cyndy is a program management professional with extensive experience in office administration, customer service, and maximizing productivity. She served as Fund Development Coordinator and Community Relations Executive Assistant at Auburn Memorial Hospital (AMH) from 2004 to January 2011. During that time she provided complete administrative support to a successful $2.4 million capital campaign and to the hospital communications program. She has been a Board member of the American Red Cross and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and is a recipient of the AMH Outstanding Customer Service Award and she served as Staff Photographer for AMH. As a Veteran of the United States Navy, Cyndy brings with her a sense of pride, confidence, attention to detail and the disipline that is required for her position.
Cyndy recently became a Notary Public for the State of New York.
Cyndy enjoys motorcycle riding, traveling, spending time with family/friends, walking, golfing, attending concerts, and photography.
